Daily reporting for 3rd February

Hi all.
 
Well, it's great to be back!
 
Most of my habits slipped away for about two weeks. I meditated most days, but not twice a day. Everything else went out the window. I'm not worried about this at all, I'm just going to learn from it and redouble my resolve to improve my life, bit by bit by bit.
 
The reasons - or excuses - are as follows.
 
1) I was very busy with a home project, painting shelves. In fact I was pretty damn crazy and workaholic about it, which probably accounts for ...
2) I got very run down and was pretty ill for about six days. It's probably not a good idae to exercise when sick - but I could have kept other habits up.
3) I had two really, important work projects. 
4) For some bizarre technical reason that is beyond me, I couldn't log on to this forum. Admittedly, I didn't try very hard!

But I think all these are excuses, with the possible exception of the illness and the exercise habit. I think the real reason was that I was over-ambitiuos with my most recent habit, and had bitten off more than i could chew, and started to resent it. I was telling myself I had to do a 100 item gratitude list, which on top of meditation, workouts and joging and the rest of my evening routine, was too much.

So, I got back on track yesterday. Ive decided to repeat the second week of the habit, starting with a three item gratitude list and adding one  more item each day.  

I'm just so glad I've got Leo's method and this forum, because it gives me the ways and means to get back on course with enthusiasm.

@crispinhay- great to see your post !!  glad you're back. I see what you mean about taking so much on you start to resent it or burn out.   Definitely defeats the purpose.  nice insight. 

@ bugalooski- I'm impressed anyone can travel with kids so efficiently. Nice work on your walking habit. Good luck with february's habits

Haven't started new habit yet, bad...bad...bad. But, I know I will. Just started two new classes and work, so kinda busy...

@crispinhay - good to acknowledge excuse and get right back on track! And, hope you are better :)
