Daily Reporting for 11th April
Up at 5:45, worked on the novel for half an hour.
Trying to figure out why I'm getting in the habit of pressing the snooze button so much. I was in bed at 9:30 pm last night, so it can't be that I'm tired. I think part of it is that I haven't had much contract work lately, so I don't feel the time pressure, I feel like I have loads of time to work on the novel.
Anyway, I need to get back to basics and get up when the alarm goes off. I think it would also help if I did my Daily Review the night before and decided what I would be working on the next morning.
Woke up at 5:40 am. Hiding the remote really works. Agresik, I am so with you on the snooze button. I'm not sure if it's a deeply ingrained habit, or real tiredness or just the dark outside the window. But the snooze button has power over me, too. I've been known to hit it for over an hour, and not even know I've done it. The only thing that works for me is to make it hard to hit the snooze.
Cleared out more emails. On track with my "chart", which will have my personal account cleared out next week. Then, I'll put all my powers onto work email (which is a nightmare)
Only walked 4532 steps yesterday, it rained all day and I had a grant proposal due. We're expecting sun for the next two days, so I'm planning on making it up this weekend.
Counted calories, ate within range.
Hi All,
Worked for forty minutes on character development. No more time today than that because of family obligations but I'm pleased to have focused on it first.
Re: wanting to sleep in - Agresik, any chance you're going to bed TOO early? For me if I go too early the next morning is worse than if I'd gone to sleep later. Just a thought.
See you tomorrow.

Hello everyone;
Lousy weather today! When will this cold chill go away? It's the kind of day that you want to just sleep in all day but had to go to work :-( A co-worker got canned today which was sad. I hope that easter sunday is a new start for her as she had quit on the job for many months so it was just a matter of time before she was let go.
Did morning routine and added a "To-Stop List" following the advice of Jonathan Mead (http://zenhabits.net/2009/04/seven-productivity-tips-for-people-that-hate-gtd/#more-2999). In the past year I've had very good results in stopping a few of my lifelong bad habits...yes lifelong habits (lasting 20 years or more) so playing around with the To-Stop list was very interesting. The key insight I gained from doing the to-stop list was that I need to stop being *jealous* of other people's speaking abilities. I've always had trouble with speaking as I have a very soft voice and have always been nervous when I spoke to others thinking they will not hear me somewhere down the line this changed into jealousy of other people whose speaking abilities I admired. So to make a long story short...I will stop this negative habit! I'm sure this is not what Jonathan Mead had in mind with his article but I'm going to go with it for now.
Have a great day everyone.

That sounds interesting. What exactly do you do?
hi everyone,
day 24/30 my daily task done.
bye tomorrow.
Day 20: sort of decluttered. really i just did a bunch of paperwork, so i don't feel like it counts.
Day 80: got up when alarm rang at 6:20 and was awake but didn't get out of bed. it's tricky. i was waiting on a phone call from one of my employees, but didn't actually have to get out of bed to tell him what i needed to tell him.so i woke up, laid around for 10 minutes, answered a phone call in bed, and then went back to bed. i probably shouldn't do that since it is probably a pavlovian step backwards, but i also don't won't to be totally out of it when my employee calls in the morning don't quite know what to do...
Early to bed early every day to get up, walk to the park, a breath of fresh air
