Daily Reporting for 29th January
Well, this is three days of reporting in one. While I've missed on posting, I haven't broken stride, and today was my 29th day in a row of meditating for 20 minutes in the morning.
This is also Day 11 of alternating between pushups and situps each day. Did 192 situps on the 27th, 41 pushups yesterday, and 216 situps today!
Hmm, I have been slipping and sliding a little lately. This morning I slept in (but because I was awake for about an hour during the night, unusual), didn't do my writing and yesterday I had chocolate.
So this tells me that I am simply allowing this to happen, and that I need to recommit myself. Because if I start with a few mishaps, soon it will be more often, I know myself. Thus, I have fallen again, but I am getting back up, and today, no chocolate, and tomorrow I will be up on time and will do my writing. This is valid for everyday.
Day 21 Scheduling Done for the Day Woot 21 day streak. this feels like a habit.
Day 29
I was on early shift, therefore my exercise got delayed till the evening.
Felt my shins a bit during the run, stretching felt good though
Have a great day
yesterday, jan 28, i had one half beer and one margarita.
Yikes--month's almost up. What new habit to pick for next month?
Anyway, started working on B chords today. Ow ow ow!
I haven't posted for some time, but I'm here again.
This week I received my THE POWER OF LESS and started reading it. In the book, Leo says it's important to let people know how we are doing with our challenges, so here I am again.
Most of the times I have remembered to eat slowly. I'm still not perfect though. I think I've already achieved a satisfactory level of mindfulness when I eat, because now I chew more times and slowly. I haven't been on a diet or exercised but I've lost 1 pound just by being mindful.
It's ok. I completed my yoga practice and I reached the final step (5 exercises and 21 rehearsals). I will have to keep this good habit now.
Day 30 is done!!! I went 30 for 30, both in doing the challenge, and in posting about it on this site!!! For the past 30 days I've spent 10 minutes (and no more than 10 minutes) decluttering my workshop, transforming it from this:

to this:

The photos are not taken from the same exact vantage point, but I think you can get the idea. I've made a LOT of progress with my new 10 minute habit. My plan is to continue my habit of 10 minutes of decluttering each day, but expand it to my entire house. I am also going to start another 30 day challenge... writing out my 3 MITs, no more, no less, and making sure I complete them each day. I'll probably post about that challenge on the Zen Habits forum. Well, this will probably be my last post on this site. It's been fun. Best of luck to everyone with their challenges. Have a great 2009. My thanks to Leo. Peace... out.
Day 28. My day was planned out by 8:00 AM with my personal and work email checked.
It was a well planned day. The offsite training class I led went well as I got there right on time and the two folks who were in it expressed interest in a few things they learned. Overall, it was a worth while effort. I also got some stuff done that I had been putting off before going to the offsite training. Today, I also had about 3 hours of being in the car traveling which gave me some time today to just think/relax...
The key may have been getting up at 6:00, having enough time to read before work (i'm currently reading Leviticus in the Bible) and then getting to work on time to start my day. I did leave my cell phone at home, but made sure I had my planner with me. A month ago, I would have left my planner at home instead of the cell phone on accident.
I have become dependent on planning out my day in the morning. If I don't plan out my day generally, I'm finding it not to go as well. Sure, there will always be 'curveballs', but I'm really starting see the benefits of this good habit of planning out my day and checking email work/personal having to respond to both early in the morning.
Later.
Day 29: Filed a bunch of random papers in the office. Rest of the house is still tidy.
@ farmerdiddley - what an amazing difference! Congrats, and happy 2009!
Day 29 - check! I walked/ran for 13 minutes this evening (5 min. walk, 3 min. run, 5 min. walk). Felt good. Was tired since I had a long day at work, but felt great afterwards. Always revives me.
Day 29 (28 for me) -- I'm definitely eating slower. It's not as hard as it was. I've already made up my mind what I'm going to do next month: portion control. I think if I can eat slower and eat less, I'll be much better off. I do hope this is going to continue, yes? ~ ej
Did the writing...Coming up on the end of the month and wondering if this will stick.
Day 29 - did my 10 mins of meditation and since my mind was wandering I did another 10. :)
Day 1 of new habit Jan 28: stretching I & II done.
Day 2 Jan 29: done.
