Hey all.
I've been (mostly) keeping up with reading 10 minutes daily, even if it hasn't been at night as I wanted. However, something's starting to bug me. I don't feel like this habit is really going to change my life. I know, I know, the power of gradual....but I don't think, even gradually, it'll help me much. What do you guys think I should do? Should I stick it out, or start up with another habit?

It sounds like you didn't define a strong enough trigger to build upon. Maybe ask yourself why you started this particular habit. Did you have a larger goal in mind, or did you simply want some down time? Not all habits are meant to be life-changing on a large scale, so bear that in mind as well.

Also remember that there are new people on here every day, and it is OK to start a new habit or even to renew an existing one that has gone off course. We're here to support your efforts in whatever you decide to do.

I hope this helps!

Hello Drehmos,

Hmmm, I have to admit that it is hard to keep up a habit if it doesn't seem like you are enjoying it as much as you want. I suggest that you change to something else, and I think it may be worthwhile to make a list or brainstorm things you may enjoy more to start with. Well, speaking of my own commitment (to collage a feeling for 10 minutes a day) I feel that I didn't sit well with doing a whole project for ten minutes: so I broke it down now to be collage on that thought or feeling and continue if needed for the time. Seems to be working so far.

Sincerely
Chleung
