Task of reading before meditation completed. Today's piece was about giving full attention to what is before us and that the familiar is made beautiful with love. Sounds like the art of simplicity.

Feel great. That makes it 2 days in a row of waking up with my alarm. Today it was a bit earlier - 7:30am - this gave me time to ring a friend and swap new years greetings before heading to a support group. So it is now a hitting streak I guess.

ignored alarm clock and decided to sleep in and skip morning workout. 20 minutes later changed my mind, got up wrote (possibly) the speediest article ever for my blog www.bodyincredible.com and then hit the exercise hard. Yay!

Great start for the day. Got up at 6.15 am, did pranayama for 20 minutes. Ran 6.2 km, 5 km of which was on the actual circuit where I'll be running on my 24th Jan race. Finished it in 28:40 without really pushing myself. Felt like being on top of the world. Last year, my race timing was 28 min, so this year I should atleast keep it up. Came home and made my journal entry for the day.

Hope this positive streak continues!

Day 2 Logged into the forum while munching on a banana and this reminded me to do my ten mins of drawing. So I picked up my drawing pad and proceeded to draw my half eaten banana with skin - interesting!

Missed my first day yesterday & finally got started today.

So that makes this Day 1 for me. Managed 27 minutes of journal writing instead of 30 minutes because I ran out of things to write & my stomach was about to murder me for its breakfast LOL.

Feels good going back to writing in the morning though, just have started is a great motivational factor on its own.

Good one !

I have found its best not to debate with yourself about getting up in the morning ......

Third day. My visualization took 10 minutes today. I tuned in much easier than yesterday, I still need to give my visualizations more structure and make it more effective. Not bad for the third session though. I will focus on more details in next one and invest a few minutes into preparation as well.

Jan 3, 2009 (Day 2) - I set the alarm clock back only 15 minutes, so my waking time today was 8:45. I feel ok,and walking about this morning slowly and relaxed. Seeing interesting things when I need to get up, first: I like to debate with myself whether or not I should get up- quick solution to that is just jumping out of bed as soon as the alarm clock goes off, don't do mmuch thinking about it- and second: I notice that I get up WAY before my alarm clock but I am still sleeping and rolling around in my bed but I can think about stuff if I wanted to, pretty interesting.

Thanks

30 minutes of revision done. It was actually really difficult but I managed to stick to it.

Guitar practised again. Realise need to rest my hands- do a lot of typing at work and use laptop a lot at home - not helping as my hands are sore when I try and play. Will have to make sure I rest them as much as possible. Also did salute to the sun this morning. Committing to one good habit definitely has a knock-on effect.

I woke up 08:00am instead 04:30am, but I slept 10:00pm (time I wish to sleep). At midnight I didn't feel very well and I need to sleep more, I turn off the alarm. Now I'm fine.
