I am actually beginning early with my proactivity habit. It's still 2008 here (for another 8 hours.) - but come on, it's New Years somewhere.

I loved the yahoo video of Auckland Habor ringing in the new year :)

I am starting early and am taking initiative to declare that I am going to bend the rules.

I am going to report on the progress when I can. I do not have access to the net on a daily basis. This does not give me an excuse not to proact, however I will report what I did for each day under each date when I do get on the net. I know this raises a risk a little bit of not acting on the habit, but one habit I do have is integrity. If I blow the habit I will tell you. This raises the bar and I am sure to keep chugging along.

I wasn't sure at first at taking the challenge, but now I love it. I hope I'm right that Leo will continue the challenge on a Monthly basis because I have more habits to develop after this one!

I guess since I proactively declared that I am bending the rules, I'm ahead aren't I? :)

Happy New Year to everyone!

Tonight, I tackle the mid-room... pack away the tree and decorations (and declutter as I do) and purge the room of its unnecessary clutter, including furniture.

Happy New Year everyone! (just started in the UK - I reluctantly left blogging to look at the fireworks - this is becoming an addiction)

Did a little bit of decluttering today but not achieved what I planned. Pick myself up, start again tomorrow.

half of the world is no doubt still revelling in it's hangover but I'm proud to say I shook off 2008 at a decent hour this morning, started the day with some journalling (that's 2 for 2 on meeting my challenge of writing before emailing) and then went to a hot yoga class. feeling good, if tired!

Ohooo. Great start to the new year. Got my morning run in. 5k in 29:04. Yesterday, couldn't get my run / pranayama done, but its okay. The important goal is to keep running on alternate days which I've done for the last 4 sessions.

I wish everybody a very happy new year.

There was no way I could welcome the New Year in quietly, what with my next-door neighbur who had boomers for crackers and invited everyone in our street to come and play:-)

But I did go to bed at a reasonable hour. Woke up when the alarm rang at 4am, but decided to laze about in bed for another hour or so before getting out.

Went to bed at ca. 22.30 on December, 31. and got up this mornig at 05.30 having successfully ignored all fireworks.
Red and answered the New Years Mails from my friends and did my next half hour of organizing papers.
It took me 3 cups of coffee to stay tuned to it.
Seems that paperorganizing seriously interferes with my try to stop drinking coffee....

Happy New Year!

My habit of waking with my alarm clock started - well... 50 / 50.

Set it for 8:00am in order to reach a support meeting in the morning. Ended up last night watching Platoon (great film) until 2am.

So.... despite the hints tips and nudges regarding correct ways to wake up, I zonked back to bed until 11am.

Plan for tomorrow will be much the same - exercise in afternoon today, movie in evening (not late night) and then let's try for 8am start tomorrow.

Good luck to all,

My first day. It was not clever to plan the beginning of my challenge on 1st Jan, right after New Year's celebration but beginner's enthusiasm helped a lot. :) I started off my visualization after my usual exercise. It took me a few minutes to calm my mind down and focus on my priority project so I ended up on 15 minutes total. I can feel much more motivated after this and recall the feeling of joy I experienced when I visualized benefits coming from successful project completion. It is great! I am looking forward to next session, hoping to clear the vision more and enhance the feelings. Visualization did the job today, I am more focused on my priorities and working on my project already.

I managed to squeeze 10 minutes yoga into the day. But I left it right to the moment before I was about to got to bed...bad news! Tomorrow I'll start the day with yoga.

I did my first day, Jan 1 2009! I wrote for 10 minutes in the morning after brushing my teeth (the trigger), though I really didn't feel like writing!! And I didn't write anything of particular significance, but that's ok. It's just getting-the-engines-going sort of writing.

Using the tooth brushing as a trigger, eh. I'm not sure how that will work, but I'm sure it will work better at home -- where my office is right across the hall from the bathroom -- than it does here at my partner's parents' house in Norway -- where the bathroom is on the 2nd floor upstairs and the internet connection/computer is in a cold dank room in the basement! So the routine become: brush teeth, descend two flights of stairs into a cold dank room and write. Ah well, just until Monday!

Best of luck to all, and happy new year!

Despite the last glass of vodka yesterday that was surely a bit too much when I see myself waking up this morning, I could have done my meditation without problem and I enjoy it...fresh air of the start.

Happy New Year! I'm off to a good start.

Last night, 1 1/4 glasses of wine. Finished B's last 1/4.
Much later a small portion of Bailey's cream liqueur.

Today I went to the park and ran about 2 miles then walked 1. It feels good to be exercising!
